Tableau Community Work
Just a list of all the threads I’ve joined: stop me from losing them so easily.
I help so many people with all manner of Tableau-related problems, that I’ve lost track of the majority of posts I’ve written, the trouble is is the Salesforce community that Tableau was forced to move to following Salesforce' acquisition of Tableau in 2019 is near impossible to use. One example: Saturday 04-03-22 I needed to find a post from June 21; the search function was ineffective leaving me to trawl through 8 months of posts taking nearly 20 minutes, and using huge amounts of memory to do so.
So from March 2022, I’m trialling adding them to this table, hopefully they’ll be more easily searchable

22/02/2022 | Tableau Optimisation | VizQL | How do you access the SQL code that Tableau Desktop uses to execute queries? | best answer - me | Take a look at this video I created a while ago: in it, I'm comparing the performance of CustomSQL to the relational model, and in order to do this, I show in detail exactly how the query is captured, where the logs are (Windows default), how to extract, and then how to prep for testing in SSMS. Also take a look at my page here for more general information surrounding the logs too: |
